Dioxin & Furan Testing
ALS - Columbia dioxin and furan screening procedure uses a GC/HRMS instrumentation technique which removes positive interferences from PCBs, PAHs and dioxin-like compounds. Our dioxin and furan screening procedure reports low detection limits - in the parts-per-trillion (ng/Kg) range for soils/sediments and tissues – and in the parts-per-quadrillion (pg/L) range for waters. A Toxicity Equivalence Quotient (TEQ) is also reported using seventeen 2,3,7,8-specific dioxin/furan isomers, which is the same list in EPA Method 8290 and EPA Method 1613B. The dioxin and furan screening is low-cost and the data conforms to ALS - Columbia's rigorous quality assurance program.
