EPA Method 1006:
Larval Survival and Growth Test for Waters Using Inland Silverside. Official Name: EPA Test Method 1006.0: Inland Silverside, Menidia beryllina, Larval Survival and Growth Method.

Summary:
Inland Silverside, Menidia beryllina, 7 - 11 day old larvae are exposed in a static renewal system for 7 days to different concentrations of effluent or receiving water. Test results are based on the survival and growth of the larvae.

Scope:
This method estimates the chronic toxicity of effluents and receiving waters to the inland silverside, Menidia beryllina, using seven to eleven day old larvae in a seven day, static renewal test. The effects include the synergistic, antagonistic, and additive effects of all the chemical, physical, and biological components which adversely affect the physiological and biochemical functions of the test species.
