EPA Method 1660:
The Determination of Pyrethrins and Pyrethroids in Municipal and Industrial Wastewater

Summary:
A 750-mL sample is saturated with salt and extracted by stirring with acetonitrile in a 1-L volumetric flask. A small portion of the acetonitrile rises into the neck of the flask. The extract is evaporated to a volume of 7.5 mL.

Scope:
This method covers the determination of pyrethrins and pyrethroids in wastewater by extraction and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with an ultra-violet detector (UV).
