EPA Method 208.2:
Barium by Graphite Furnace AA. Official Name: Barium (Atomic Absorption, Furnace Technique)

A sample prepared according to EPA Method 200.0 is analyzed using a graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometer. Specifications for instrument operation and preparation of standards are provided in the method.

This method determines barium by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry. Sample pretreatment according to EPA Method 200.0 determines the applicability.

Methods for the Chemical Analysis of Water and Wastes (MCAWW) (EPA/600/4-79/020)

QC Requirements:
QC requirements for drinking water procedures are provided in method 200.0.

Sample Prep:

Precision and accuracy values were determined using data from the analyses of fortified tap water. A 1:10 dilution was required to bring the samples into range. Values at 1000 ug/L Ba are available in the method.

The DL is to be considered the minimum working limit achievable with this method.
