EPA Method 6850:
Perchlorate in water, soils and solid wastes using high performance liquid chromatography/electrospray ionization /mass spectrometry (HPLC/ESI/MS or HPLC/ESI/MS/MS)
Summary:
Perchlorate is separated, detected and quantified using one of three instrument system options: HPLC/MS with fragmentation, HPLC/MS/MS or HPLC/MS without fragmentation.
Scope:
This method uses high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) coupled with electrospray ionization (ESI) mass spectrometry (MS) or tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) for the determination of perchlorate in surface water, groundwater, wastewater, salt water and soil.
