Mr. Minocha,

our lab uses 1,4-Dioxane-d8 as an internal standard for this analysis to increase accuracy and precision.

why toluene is used as a internal standard for 1,4 Dioxane detection through GCMS, pls, give other internal standard solvent for the same

Mr Nunes,
The main drawback regarding use of a FID detector is it is very non-specific. Any other organic compound that elutes at or close to the retention time of 1,4-Dioxane in your analysis may cause a false positive identification or an inaccurate quantitation.

What is your experience about using headpace with FID as the detector for 1,4-Dioxane analysis? Is it reliable, despites higher PQL? Thanks.

Hello uttam chakraborty.

The analytical methods we perform are proprietary to our company and
represent many hours of method development. The EPA's website contains
methods for determining levels of 1,4-dioxane as well as sample
preparation methods. I would direct you there to figure out what sample
preparation and analytical methods will work best for your situation.
Good luck!

Hello Iebogang!

We do not manufacture synthetic anionic surface active agents, so cannot answer your question. I would suggest that you contact manufactors of these products with your questions. If you need a sample analyzed for the presence to 1,4-dioxane, we can help you. Good luck.

Hello Dr. Gholap!

We do test samples for the presence of 1,4-dioxane, but are not manufacturers of it. Our emphasis is on detecting it so that it may be removed. I would suggest narrowing your search to chemical companies that manufacture 1,4-dioxane. They should be able to help you.

I am interested in analyzing the high boiling impurities formed during 1,4-dioxane manufacturing process and also interested to remove these impurities on plant scale. Some stabilisers ,if any , to avoid the formation of impurities during 1,4-D process should also be appreciated.
