Mobile Lab
With the only mobile laboratories based in Arizona, Columbia Analytical provides on-site testing throughout the nation, with a focus on California, Nevada, Texas, Colorado, Utah and New Mexico. Our mobile laboratories are self-contained 23 to 28-foot fifth-wheel trailers, powered by generators and fully equipped.
Our mobile laboratory services offer convenient, dedicated service to our clients. Equipped with Gas Chromatographs, Energy Dispersive Xray Fluorescence (EDXRF) instruments, and customized field testing kits, our mobile laboratories have been field tested for ruggedness and dependability in environments as extreme and diverse as Arizona to Alaska.
We have the ability to work with the client to apply problem-solving techniques, setting up specific field tests for unique site requirements, making Columbia Analytical Field Services the most creative and cost-effective partner for your more challenging assignments.

Soil Vapor/Ambient Air Analytical and Sampling Services
Columbia Analytical has the capability to perform soil vapor and ambient air analysis for site assessments and property transfers. Chlorinated and aromatic solvents data can be provided in near-real time. Some applications include analysis of chlorinated solvents and their breakdown products at dry cleaning operations and landfills, as well as aromatic and total petroleum hydrocarbons from Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE) systems.

Biodegradation Progress/Natural Attenuation Evaluation
Our onsite laboratories can effectively assist in your biodegradation/natural attenuation planning process and your remediation process.

PCB, Toxaphene, DDT, DDE, DDD Screening
Columbia Analytical has extensive experience with field analysis of Toxaphene, DDT and breakdown products, as well as PCBs. The field GC technique is fast and accurate with up to 20 or more samples analyzed per day.

Dry Cleaner Investigations, PCE, TCE, cis- and trans-1,2-DCE Screening
Our mobile laboratories provide onsite screening for PCE and its breakdown products in soil, water, or soil vapor to assist in dry cleaner site investigation or remedial actions.

X-Ray Fluorescence
We analyze a complete list of metals in soil quickly and accurately using Field Transportable Xray Fluorescence techniques. This technique is used for shooting ranges, brownsfield site assessments, and in the mining industry. Samples are dried and homogenized on-site prior to analysis. These homogenized soil samples may be submitted to the fixed laboratory for confirmation of 5 to 10 percent for compliance.
Methanol Preservation Services
EPA Method 5035 requires either the use of specialized equipment for collection of soil samples for volatile organic compounds or methanol preservation within two hours of sampling. The Columbia Analytical mobile labs preserve volatile samples with methanol within minutes of sampling. This offers the client the advantage of field testing combined with further compliance or confirmation analysis of the extracts at the fixed laboratory.
