Rochester Laboratory
Columbia Analytical's Rochester, New York, location is a full service environmental laboratory and is the second largest in the Columbia Analytical network. The laboratory carries certifications in most Eastern and Southeastern states, including Florida, and has been NELAC certified in New York since the inception of the national approval program. In addition, Columbia Analytical/Rochester participates in and has approvals from many industry audit programs.
Testing Services
Columbia Analytical/Rochester provides routine and special analytical and field services to many large industrial and government clients. New York's Watershed Assessment Bureau has contracted with this facility for years to provide low level nutrient and other water quality analysis on lakes and reservoirs around the state, including much of the watershed serving New York City. For this work, which also serves the data needs of the USGS and their network of water quality monitoring stations, the Rochester laboratory participates in the USGS semi-annual proficiency evaluation program. Other highlights of Rochester's service include the following:
- Nearly half of the testing in this facility is performed according to full CLP-like methodologies and reporting
- Major ASP deliverables supplier to consultants needing New York's rigorous and most common deliverables
- EDDs can be supplied according to client specifications - Excel, EQUIS, GIS-Key and more
- Access to the STARLIMS data management system (central data base) allows project managers to service clients' reporting needs efficiently and promptly
- Special, fast turn-arounds are met at a high frequency for repeat clients by reserving capacity for this service
- Field services are provided by our experienced and OSHA-trained technicians. They conduct sample collections and in-situ measurements
- Daily courier pick-up service is available to most areas in western New York; overnight couriers also arranged
- Turn-around times that meet YOUR schedule and expectations
- MACT testing for boiler and incinerator proficiency studies (BTU's, Halogens, Fixed Gases, Sulfur, Ash, and others)
- Groundwater monitoring, including sampling and on-site field measurements
- Formaldehyde, 1,4-Dioxane, Hex Chromium by 7199, Lloyd-Kahn TOC's, 1631 LL Mercury
- MNA monitoring parameters - Metabolic Fatty Acids (all 5 of concern)
- RSK 175 MEE dissolved gases
